1．About the compensation system of the car rental company

In the case of major car rental companies, their basic rate (car rental fee) includes basic insurance such as automobile insurance and automobile liability insurance. If you have a car accident in your rental car, and damage your car or injure people, the insurance company will pay money for the damage in compensation. However, you must pay money for the compensation. This money is called "a deductible cost", and the system that you can be exempt from paying the deductible cost is called " Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)".

In addition, if you have an accident, you must pay a non-operation charge during the time required for such repair or cleaning, for a car rental separately. It is called "NOC (non-operation charge)". About Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is a system where you are exempt from the deductible costs in a car accident while using your rental car. The amount of the deductible cost varies depending on the car rental company or the rental car size, but if you decline Collision Damage Waiver, you have to pay up to 150,000 yen. Whereas Collision Damage Waiver is not compulsory, many car rental companies recommend accepting it. It is said that about 80% of rental car users currently accept Collision Damage Waiver.
